The second type of speed exercises are called Elastic Speed Training.
This type of speed training is useful at any age, but is especially beneficial to senior golfers.
The way it works is by increasing the elastic energy in your muscles (something we tend to lose as we age UNLESS we do something specific to reverse it).
When you stretch a muscle, it wants to react by releasing or snapping back like a rubber band.
The more you teach your muscles to do this, the faster they will fire with any given effort.
So for example, when you stretch your muscles on your backswing, you're actually loading them to be released through the ball in your downswing.
The more elastic energy your muscles have, the faster they will snap through impact and the faster your swing speed will be.
Unfortunately, stretching alone will not increase the elastic energy within your muscles.
This is because stretching just trains your muscles to hold an elongated state, and never snap back... Which just trains you to be slower!
In fact, stretching can actually decrease your muscle's elastic energy for a short period of time (up to 24 hours)!
But Elastic Speed Training teaches your muscles to be more pliable, and have more elastic snap through the golf ball regardless of how long your backswing is!
Again, these two types of exercises in the Senior Swing Speed Accelerator take only 6 minutes to perform.
